We've studied the psukim in Bereshit with an emphasis on comparing the following phrases: מלאו את הארץ וכבשוה and , לעבדה ולשמרה. These two phrases demonstrate the need of man to both develop and preserce the land. We realized that there is nothing that man can create without utilizing raw materials that G-d created. Man's development of creation is both beneficial and detrimental, leading to the conclusion that every development has both potentials, and that possible detrimental effects must always be kept in mind and controlled.
